Hi Mary,

I live out in Covington and last year, I noticed for the first time the
Anna's at my 'Arthur Menzies' a couple of times in December & January when
it
was in bloom. So, I've planted a BUNCH of mahonia 'Charity' as well as
the Leatherleaf Mahonia, M. bealei, in hopes of attracting more Anna's to my
yard.

Also, Rainier Audubon has had a couple of Anna's on the past two CBC's in
this area--pretty far east from the water, so I believe if you have these
large mahonias, you will have a good chance of seeing Anna's this far
inland.
