Sightings for Saturday, October 1, 2005

At the foot of 96th Street on Boundary Bay in Delta, shorebirds seen
included 1 SHARP-TAILED SANDPIPER, 8 RED KNOTS, 4-5 AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVERS,
and 1 MARBLED GODWIT.

At Colony Farm in Coquitlam, during a VNHS outing, a juvenile or sub-
adult ANNA'S HUMMINGBIRD was observed. It is believed to be the first
record of this species at Colony Farm.


Sightings for Friday, September 30, 2005

Along the waterfront between Crescent Beach and White Rock, a first
winter HEERMANN'S GULL was seen around noon.

15 BLACK SCOTERS, the first of the fall, were seen along the White
Rock waterfront. Also seen was 1 adult WESTERN GULL at the base of
the White Rock pier.

At Elgin Park in south Surrey 10 EVENING GROSBEAKS were in the berry
bushes surrounding the pond.


Sightings for Wednesday, September 28, 2005

At the foot of 96th Street on Boundary Bay in Delta, shorebirds seen
included 6 AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVERS, 2 RED KNOTS, and 2
MARBLED GODWITS.

At the Reifel Bird Sanctuary in Delta, sightings included 3 BLACK-
CROWNED NIGHT-HERONS, an OSPREY, 6 SANDHILL CRANES,
and an early SNOW GOOSE.


Sightings for Tuesday, September 27, 2005

At the Reifel Bird Sanctuary, 2 late CLIFF SWALLOWS, 2 WHITE-THROATED
SPARROWS, and an AMERICAN KESTREL were seen.
