It's not too unusual to find dippers around various alpine lakes in the
Olympics: Heart Lk in the Soleduck comes to mind as a place I've seen them
a number of times. Was more surprised to watch one at Moose Lk a couple of
weeks ago land repeatedly in the middle of the lake and pretend to be a
phalarope. In terms of more usual habitat, they were especially numerous on
recent hiking trips along the Elwha and Dosewallips Rivers.
