Sightings for Wednesday, October 5, 2005

At Lighthouse Marine Park in Point Roberts, Washington, a first winter
FRANKLIN'S GULL was observed at around 3:30 PM flying towards
White Rock.

At the foot of 104th Street on Boundary Bay in Delta, shorebirds
seen included 2 AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVERS and 2 MARBLED GODWITS.

Along 68th Street near 60th Ave in Delta, 34 SANDHILL CRANES were
foraging in a farm field.


Sightings for Tuesday, October 4, 2005

Near the end of the Iona Island South Jetty, the sightings included 1
LAPLAND LONGSPUR, 1 HORNED LARK, 2 PACIFIC LOONS, and 3
PARASITIC JAEGERS.


Sightings for Saturday, October 1, 2005

At the foot of 96th Street on Boundary Bay in Delta, shorebirds seen
included 1 SHARP-TAILED SANDPIPER, 8 RED KNOTS, 4-5 AMERICAN
GOLDEN-PLOVERS, and 1 MARBLED GODWIT.

At Colony Farm in Coquitlam, during a VNHS outing, a juvenile or sub-
adult ANNA'S HUMMINGBIRD was observed. It is believed to be the first
record of this species at Colony Farm.


Sightings for Friday, September 30, 2005

15 BLACK SCOTERS, the first of the fall, were seen along the White
Rock waterfront. Also seen was 1 adult WESTERN GULL at the base of
the White Rock pier.

Along the waterfront between Crescent Beach and White Rock 1 first
winter HEERMANN'S GULL was seen around noon.
