Valerie Elliott's recent trip to Panama had me drooling. I would love to take a trip down south and see some of these exotic creatures.

I want to plan a trip say February or March. We are on a limited budget so Mexico is probably more affordable than Central America or Costa Rica. Are there any suggestions of good, less expensive trips we could take and is this a good time to go?
