Greetings Tweeters,

Just a short note rather than a complete lists since this is a late post.....I visited Ocean Shores - Damon Point last Thursday afternoon in the rain. It rained, then poured, then rained and poured some more; nonetheless, I had one new experience that made the trip worthwhile - a Common Loon about 30 feet off shore called once before diving. This is the first time I have been close enough to a loon to hear its call. It was the Common Loon's winter "hahahaha," which doesn't even begin to describe the eerie loveliness of the sound.

There were quite a few Surf Scooters, gulls of course, and a large flock of Pelagic Cormorants flew over. Another fly-by treat was 4 Brown Pelicans, three adults and one juvenile. After about 2 hours walking in the rain I was rather soaked, so "Thank heavens for car heaters!"....and the call of the loon is still with me :-) :-) :-)!

Cheers!
Judy
