OUT OF TOWN RARE BIRD ALERT for a NORTHERN WHEATEAR


Sightings for Monday, October 10

An OUT OF TOWN RARE BIRD ALERT continues for a NORTHERN
WHEATEAR at French Creek at Columbia Beach north of Parksville.

In the maples behind the Museum of Anthropology at the University of
BC, Vancouver, a tan morph WHITE-THROATED SPARROW was observed


Sightings for Sunday, October 9

A SAY'S PHOEBE was found along the Richmond West Dike about 100
meters south of Francis Road.

At Queens Park in New Westminster 1 TOWNSEND'S WARBLER was present
just east of the Rose Garden.

A SHARP-TAILED SANDPIPER was present on Boundary Bay between 96th St
and 104th Street, Delta


Sightings for Saturday, October 8

At Lighthouse Marine Park in Point Roberts, Washington, 3
LONG-TAILED DUCKS were present.

Around 50 LAPLAND LONGSPURS cruised over the fields near the foot of
104th St at Boundary Bay in Delta.


Sightings for Friday, October 7

This morning at the Reifel Bird Sanctuary in Delta, an OVENBIRD
was glimpsed along the north side of the Outer Dike Trail.


Sightings for Wednesday, October 5, 2005

At the Reifel Bird Sanctuary, a SHARP-TAILED SANDPIPER was seen in the
morning.

At Boundary Bay Regional Park in Tsawwassen, a WHITE-THROATED
SPARROW was seen.

At Lighthouse Marine Park in Point Roberts 1 first winter FRANKLIN'S
GULL was observed at around 3:30 PM, flying towards White Rock.

At the foot of 104th Street on Boundary Bay in Delta, shorebirds
seen included 2 AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVERS and 2 MARBLED GODWITS.

Along 68th Street near 60th Ave in Delta, 34 SANDHILL CRANES were
foraging in a farm field.


Sightings for Tuesday, October 4, 2005

Near the end of the Iona Island South Jetty the sightings included 1
LAPLAND LONGSPUR, 1 HORNED LARK, 2 PACIFIC LOONS, and 3
PARASITIC
JAEGERS.
