I mentioned to David Drummond, of the Coastal Forest Merlin Project,
that I had seen the Merlin that was hunting swifts coming to roost in
the chimney in Monroe. He hadn't heard about this bird, and he asked
for details. All I know is that I saw it on the one evening I was
there, and that it seemed to belong to the dark, coastal race. David
would appreciate more information, so if the rest of you can provide
more dates and details, please send them to him. His address is

Merlin observations.
