Hello, this is the Audubon society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday October 13. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls

Heavy coastal southward movements of BROWN PELICANS, HEERMANN?S GULLS,
CALIFORNIA GULLS, and DOUBLE-CRESTED CORMORANTS were reported during the
week. Willamette Valley observers reported large numbers of SANDHILL CRANES
flying south October 11 and 12. Two are now at Tillamook. ROBIN flocks are
now moving into Central Oregon.

On October 6 a PALM WARBLER and an AMERICAN TREE SPARROW were at the South
Jetty of the Siuslaw River. The next day a CLAY-COLORED SPARROW was there. A
PALM WARBLER was seen October 9 in Gearhart. Another PALM WARBLER was at the
EE Wilson SWA north of Corvallis October 12.

On October 11 four SURF SCOTERS, two REDHEADS, and three GREATER SCAUP were
at the Philomath Sewage Ponds. Also on October 11 a RED-BREASTED MERGANSER
was at the Pioneer Villa Truckstop near Brownsville and six SURF SCOTERS
were on Big Lake in Santiam Pass. On October 5 a PALM WARBLER was at Fern
Ridge Reservoir. A NORTHERN SHRIKE was there October 9. On October 6 two
WHITE PELICANS were at Stewart Pond in Roseburg.

On October 9 a SABINE?S GULL, an early THAYER?S GULL and HERRING GULL, some
BONAPARTE?S GULLS, and seven SURF SCOTERS were at Wickiup Reservoir south of
Bend.
