Stacy hit it on the head! My hummers (mostly Anna's) will almost never feed from my feeders. They would much prefer to drink the sweet nectar from the 5-6 different plant species available in my yard from April to December. During the Spring I see many visitors to the feeder but I do not seem to see many repeats until their territories are set. Fall is another time of transition for sure but regular/daily visits are the norm. December-Feb. also see many Anna's in the yard and this is the time that the feeder plays a role but once the first Salmon Berry blooms come out they tend to hunt out insects and any available flowers first....Rhodies, Honeysuckle...etc...
