I'm leading a public birdwalk down at Kent Ponds this Sat. I'll be
unlocking the gate to go inside to the area that is normally closed to the
public. My public walk starts at 9am, but if any Tweeters folks want to get
inside, I can meet you EARLIER at 8am, at Wendy's/mini mart on the corner of
S 212th St, and 64th Ave S. I have a little hand-drawn map I can hand out
to get you oriented to the area if you haven't birded there before. I think
that the public group shouldn't interfere w/ your birding and you can be on
your own.
See you at 8AM?

Trip Led By: Rainier Audubon Leaders
Please join birders from Rainier Audubon as they introduce you to local
birding hotspots. The ducks are coming back to the valley, and it's great
time of year to see them. We will also try to find hawks, and other birds.
We may get to go inside Kent Ponds to an area usually closed to the public.
We may walk up to one mile on level ground. Our leaders will help you see
and identify the birds!
Bring: Walking shoes or boots, warm clothes, snacks and water. Bring
binoculars if you have them. Scopes are welcome.
Meet: At the mini-mart/Wendy's at the corner of S 212th St and 64th Ave S.
>From I-167, take the S 212th St exit in north Kent, come west about 2 miles.
Turn left (south) on 64th. Mini-mart is on the corner. From I-5, take exit
152, Orillia Rd. Turn east toward the Kent Valley. Down in the valley
Orillia becomes S 212th St. From the start of the valley go approx 1 mile
east to 64th. Mini-mart/Wendy's is on the right side corner at the light.
