Hello All-
I found an apple wedged in the crotch of a snag in my back yard. I?m
presuming that a Steller's Jay , or maybe a Crow put it there to keep it
still while they pecked at the fruit. I have watched Jays do this with
peanuts, wedging them in the fork of a tree and hammering at the shell
to open it, but an apple is much heaver than a peanut. Can anyone tell me
who you think could lift a 4" apple 5 feet into a tree. Just how much can
a bird lift?
