Hi Tweeters;

This is another of those old messages that I'll pass along once more.

When I was stationed at Fort Huachuca back in 1969-1971, I was at first assigned to the Post Engineers; the Insect and Rodent Control Section, no less. There was a Mexican-American man as part of the crew, who told me that a few years earlier he was working in west Texas along the Pecos River in the cotton fields there. He witnessed a massive hummingbird kill during spring migration, when the cotton (I think he referred to) flowers were sprayed with insecticide. The fields were covered with dead hummingbirds!

I hope things have improved by now.
