Please do not underestimate the power of a shotgun of any gauge. The size
and weight of shot used for pheasants and upland birds renders it dangerous
to distances greater than 100 yards, and lethal within 50 yards. Be careful
when you are out in hunting areas and don't put your self at risk by
blending in with the surroundings. The odds of being shot are very small,
it is more dangerous driving to your birding destination than being in the
field during hunting season.
