We saw a golden eagle over at Robinson Canyon lift a small fawn from under a
large bush and fly a short distance with it - over a ridge and out of sight.

I saw a bald eagle struggle to fly off with a dead adult opossum.
Initially, it eagle could not get off the ground with it, so it would tear
off a few bites of flesh, swallow, and try to take off again. After about
15 minutes of eating, trying to fly, etc., the eagle finally was able to
gain the air -- all the while being harassed by crows. The crows
dive-bombed the bald eagle (carrying the possum) until the eagle gained
enough altitude to catch a thermal and was lifted higher than the crows
chose to follow.
