Tweets - eleven of us enjoyed a much more normal day than last week. Not
nearly so quiet, despite overcast and mist and a little drizzle and a tiny
touch of light rain. There were plenty of birds to see.

Highlights:

Northern Shoveler 3 at weir
American Wigeon Large flock flew north. Also contained...
Northern Pintail First of fall
Ring-necked Duck 3 at Rowing Club - First of fall
Horned Grebe 1 near lake platform - First of fall
Western Grebe 1 a bit further out on the lake
MERLIN 1 at south end of Dog Meadow
Great Horned Owl Heard west of the windmill early
Wilson's Snipe Several seen throughout the day
Western Gull One with other gulls on grass fields
Cedar Waxwing Large numbers (100+) especially near Dog
Central
Common Yellowthroat Getting late - Matt had 1 at RowingClub

Good day for raptors with RED-TAILED HAWK, SHARP-SHINNED HAWK, COOPER'S
HAWK, and NORTHERN HARRIER to go with the MERLIN.

Lots of sparrows, but only the usual species. Still, there were maybe as
many as 10 LINCOLN'S SPARROW, and similar numbers of FOX SPARROW as well as
plentiful WC, GC, SONG, and SAVANNAHs.

Big miss for the day - no Downy Woodpecker.

Still, for the day, 59 species.
