Hello All,
This afternoon at 1300hrs I discovered an adult male PROTHONOTARY WARBLER at
the McNary NWR,HQ in Burbank, Walla Walla Co., WA. This bird was
photographed and observed by four other birders also present. This is the
second record in Walla Walla Co.. The bird was last seen in the dense
Russian Olive directly south of the photo blind to the northwest of the HQ
buildings. The bird likes to forage anywhere from 3-12 feet above the ground
in the thick cover. We placed a bench facing the Russian Olive and this is a
great place to sit and watch for this resplendent warbler. Later Mike
