Hello, tweeters.

Just thought I'd pass this on. We spent some time on Ediz Hook, Port
Angeles, yesterday. Didn't find anything out of the ordinary, although
we had great fun digiscoping. There were a lot of birds, and it's a
good spot usually. Someone is spreading bird seed in one place at the
edge of the parking lot on the north side of the road not far from the
entrance to the Coast Guard property, and it had a lot of seed-eating
birds coming to it. Mostly House Sparrows, but also lots of Savannah
and Golden-crowned Sparrows and, while we were there, a male
Brown-headed Cowbird and a single House Finch. The place was obvious
because of all the sparrows hanging around. I think this would be a
magnet for any seed-eater that finds itself out there, so it's worth
checking if the feeding continues. You can sit in your car near the
seeds and get wonderful looks at all the birds coming to them.
