Hi again Tweeters;
I was just going through the long accumulated list on my inbox, and saw a message about Skylarks on san Juan Island.
My only sighting on San Juan Island was a pair (the last pair?) on March 25, 1992. They were perched near the ground on the left side of the road leading to the shore, and flew across ahead of my car toward the open fields. The only other species they could have been at that close distance would be the Vesper Sparrow. But they weren't.
I tried to find them at a later date, but didn't find them in their small known range there.
I also saw them near Victoria, BC, back in 1985 I think it was.
