I was at West Point in Seattle's Discovery Park this afternoon from
2-4 p.m. There were 220+ Western Grebes on the Shilshole Bay side of
the spit and 50-80 on the south side, the latter mixed with Surf
Scoters and a few Horned Grebes. There was one Red-necked Grebe on
the Shilshole side. In the pond there were lots of American Wigeons,
one pair of Hood Mergansers and a few Mallards.

Nice to see such healthy, almost startling, numbers of Western Grebes.
