Kate Brueske called to say that, as of Wednesday, the Blue Jay has returned to her yard south of Othello for the fourth consecutive year. Take SR 24 to Atkinson Road (3.4 miles south of Othello), east to the Sundance Loop, and south to the bottom (inside) of the loop. Morning before 8 a.m. is most reliable; keep your ears open. It has keyed into a walnut orchard to the SW for its winter food supply.
