Mary and Tweeters:
Not only have I parked my V-8 SUV in the drive (I didn't gas it up for 3
months this summer), I have been looking for close-in trips. I'm the field
trip chair for Rainier Audubon, and if anyone can think of some new possible
areas that are fairly close to the Seattle-Tacoma area, I'm looking for 'em
for field trip ideas. Right now, I'd like to know about sparrow areas, and
wetland areas. The places good for sparrows are usually fields with brushy
edges. Unfortunately, these are becoming developed in the Kent Valley.
Charlie Wright and I found a few fields near Sumner last week with some
sparrows, but it would be nice to find some new, fairly-close places.
Enumclaw? Maple Valley? Areas near Olympia? The close-in field trips are
very popular with the members of our chapter right now...
Yours, Carol Schulz
