Sightings for Tuesday, October 25

The AMERICAN DIPPER continues at Hastings Park at the Pacific
National Exhibition grounds in Vancouver.

The ROCK WREN was seen again today near the second shelter on the
Iona Island South Jetty, Richmond.

2 (BLACK) BRANT observed at Beach Grove in Delta are the first
reported this fall.


Sightings for Monday, October 24

A late CASPIAN TERN was present at the Compensation Lagoon at the
Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal, Delta.

Brunswick Point at the west end of River Road in Delta produced 2
NORTHERN SHRIKES and 2 SHORT-EARED OWLS.

2 WILLETS were on the breakwater at the end of the White Rock pier in
White Rock.

A GOLDEN EAGLE was reported from between Metro Tower and Maywood
Elementary School in Burnaby.

The ROCK WREN and 1 SNOW BUNTING were again present on the Iona
Island south jetty.


Sightings for Sunday, October 23

A BARRED OWL was observed on the edge of the parking lot of the
Vancouver Golf & Country Club in Vancouver.


Sightings for Saturday, October 22

The Iona Island south jetty again produced the ROCK WREN at various
locations on the jetty throughout the day. Also present were a
LAPLAND LONGSPUR near the tip, and a SNOW BUNTING 1.5 Km from the
base of the jetty.

Boundary Bay sightings included a SAY'S PHOEBE at the Hydro
Installation west of the foot of 72nd Street, and to the east, a BAR-
TAILED GODWIT, 2 MARBLED GODWITS, 2 WESTERN MEADOWLARKS
near 104th Street.

An AMERICAN DIPPER was present at the Hastings Park Sanctuary at the
PNE and is believed to be the first record at this location.

1 female EVENING GROSBEAK was present at the feeder on River Road in
Delta that last year hosted the Western Scrub-Jay.


Sightings for Friday, October 21

A GLAUCOUS GULL was reported from north of Siwash Rock at Stanley
Park, Vancouver.

A BLUE JAY is present on Bowen Island. Please contact Donna at 604-
947-9752 for directions for this bird that has been present since
October 18th.

The Iona South Jetty had a ROCK WREN near the tip, 3 adult light
phase PARASITIC JAEGERS and 1 SNOW BUNTING.

Colony Farm in Coquitlam produced 1 NORTHERN SHRIKE, 1 AMERICAN
BITTERN and 1 AMERICAN KESTREL.

A male EURASIAN WIGEON was observed at Blackie Spit in Surrey.

Boundary Bay sightings included 1 BAR-TAILED GODWIT, 2 MARBLED
GODWITS, 1 RUDDY TURNSTONE, 2 LAPLAND LONGSPURS and
18 HORNED LARKS.


Sightings for Thursday, October 20

OUT OF TOWN RARE BIRD ALERT for a NORTHERN WHEATEAR
at the mouth of French Creek at Columbia Beach north of Parksville.
