The Vashon Island Christmas Bird Count is New Year's Day, Sunday, January 1, 2006. We welcome birders to join us for the on-island portion of the count circle or especially in the Pierce and Kitsap County parts of the count circle where we are a little light because our membership is pretty much on island. All of the territories should get 50+ species. The Pierce and Kitsap County areas have both interesting shoreline birding and upland birding. Some pretty good shorebirds and waterfowl show up in those sections.
