The following list of birds was recorded by Wayne Weber at Point
Roberts, Whatcom County, WA between 1:30 and 4:30 PM on October 27,
2005. Areas visited included Lighthouse Marine Park, the west end of
Gulf Road, Edwards Drive, and Benson Road west of Tyee Drive. Lily
Point was not visited.
The most noteworthy observation was the large flock of PACIFIC LOONS
just off Lighthouse Marine Park, which included many MEW GULLS, about
10 COMMON MURRES, and 2 PIGEON GUILLEMOTS. Somewhat surprisingly,
there were no cormorants, HEERMANN'S GULLS, or RHINOCEROS AUKLETS
with this flock.
Landbird activity was low because of the time of day and brisk,
steady breeze.
