Subject: [Tweeters] more flicker stuff

After all the chatting about intermediate flickers, one just appeared
in my yard and is chowing down on the suet feeder outside my window.
It's got a pure red malar stripe and no trace of red on the collar,
typical Red-shafted characters, but yellow wings & tail! Maybe slightly
oranger than a typical Yellow-shafted, but quite yellow. The head is
evenly brownish, without the contrast of gray and brown of either
Yellow-shafted or Red-shafted. With flickers in the yard, who could be
bored?

There is an immature female Cooper's Hawk hanging around the
neighborhood, and I see it in my yard frequently. I'm surprised that it
isn't cleaning up on flickers and jays, but perhaps they are formidable
prey, as they're both adapted for pecking mightily.
