Tweets,
Judy Mullally and I went up looking for the Yellow-billed Loon that has
been reported in JeffCo at Oak Bay. We looked the area over twice and could
not find it but Diane Mulholland did see it yesterday. (Beware, there are
one or two ivory billed Common Loons out there).
Our best sightings of the day were south of the Port Townsend Boat Haven
at the start of the Larry Scott Trail. We had several hundred sandpipers up
on the old railroad tracks at high tide including some SURFBIRDS and one
ROCK SANDPIPER. While we were looking they all got up and milled around.
When they came back we could no longer find the ROCK SANDPIPER (but there
are many places for it to hide in the crowd) but there was a BLACK MERLIN
feeding on a bird out there. I hope he had one of the Dunlins.
