Tweets,
Gene Kridler called in midafternoon to say he had seen an IVORY GULL at
3 Crabs yesterday. He said he came back an hour later and it was not there.
My wife and I rushed to the 3 Crabs tonight as the light was fading and
could not find it but did see a SHORT-EARED OWL which is getting
increasingly hard to find in Clallam.
I believe Gene implicitly but don't think he realized just how rare an
Ivory Gull is in the south 48. We will check a couple of times tomorrow.
Remember that there is only an average of 15 inches of rain in an average
year at 3 Crabs. There are a lot of gulls up and down the coast and in
Dungeness Harbor. It could well be lurking in the area.
