I think that Ravens form into large gatherings in a similiar way that Crows do. I have seen these a few times in the Cascade mountains. The largest gathering of Ravens I have seen was at Tatoosh Mt. in Mt. Rainier Nat. Park. They were covering a large snowfield just below the ruins of the old fire lookout. What was interesting was that not far away was the largest gathering of coyotes I have ever seen. I would be tempted to wonder if these events weren't some kind of "Fandango", in which animals come from far and wide to participate in.

I have also seen large gatherings of Ravens at Noble Knob/George Lake (near Corral Pass). It is fun to watch Ravens fly. I have seen them spinning as they fly fast through the trees.
