Hi, Tweets

Usually the summer months have far fewer reports, but either turkey
vultures are doing quite well or more observers are paying attention to
them. Thanks so much to all who include a turkey vulture count in their
listings to Tweeters. This is the main migration month for turkey vultures
passing through Washington with a few groups passing in very early October.
Don't forget to look up! Last year there were two or three reports of over
a hundred vultures passing over Seattle and the surrounding areas.

Following are the reports for British Columbia, Washington, Oregon, and Idaho:

Bay Spit, Oregon

were singles and sweeping low over fields; groups of 4-5 birds kettling at
higher altitude over Medford, Oregon - same on the return trip

Dryden; 1 south of Orondo; 1 south of Entiat
22 -- 1 south of Tiger; 4 north of Cusick; 1 at Calispell Lake; 2 at the

(?) turkey vulture at Nanoose Bay Estuary, British Columbia
30 -- 6 roosting in trees in north Sequim; 1 near the John Wayne Marina;
one near Wenatchee feeding on a dead cat

Many thanks for the reports. There'll be lots more vultures flying through
this month so, again, don't forget to look up.

For those who have asked re my website: when VEI changed to another company
they lost everyone's website due to something crashing. I didn't have a
backup since I know nothing about websites. One will be back up again later
this year (hopefully).

Cheers, Diann
