Hi Tweets,

This morning I drove to Monroe Elementary School in 600 block of West Main
to watch the morning exit of Swifts from the chimney.

At 6:20 a.m. there was an "eruption" of swifts from the chimney. They flew
out and seemed to disperse in all directions but mostly north. By 6:27 a.m.
the majority of them were out and exit numbers had slowed way down.
Interestingly, some of them would circle and go back down the chimney. A group that
seemed to vary between 100 & 300 stayed in the vicinity and sometimes would
dive back down the chimney in groups of 20+ while others were still coming
out.. This went on until I left at 8:05 a.m. I drove back by about 9:00 a.m.
and not a swift to be seen.

Truly an awesome sight.
