Headed up Mt Spokane this morning in hopes of finding a Blue Grouse. Did not
find the grouse, but had other nice birds. Near the top, ran into large
flocks of Mt. Bluebirds and numerous Townsend's Solitaires. One flock of
white crowned sparrows had a golden crowned in with them. 3 Olive sided
flycatchers. Lots of Chestnut backed chickadees.

On the way down stopped on Holcomb road (about 300 yards off of Mt Spokane
park road) to where a creek goes under the road. The bushes by the creek
were loaded with berries and birds: Gray Catbirds, Veery, 5 Western
Tanagers, Orange crowned, Yellow, Townsend's, MacGillivray's Warblers.
Warbling and Cassin's Vireo - 3 Pileated Woodpeckers. Bewick's and House
Wrens.

After a brief stop at Reardan with only a few peeps, Red necked phalaropes,
made my way to Sprague lake where I was met with a few more migrants at the
Sprague Lake Resort on the north end of the lake. A few shorebirds: long
billed Dowitcher. Baird's, Western, and Pectoral Sandpipers. Lesser
Yellowlegs

On the south end of Sprague along Danekas road, I saw 30 + Common Terns, 1
Forster's Tern, 1 Black Tern, 1 Franklin's Gull, 2 Bonaparte's Gulls and 2
Adult Sabine's Gulls. Surrounding fields had many American Pipits, several
Swainson's Hawks, 1 Prairie Falcon.

Sheep Lake, just south of Sprague had 2 America Avocets.
