Subject: [Tweeters] Tualco turkey vultures, etc.

Hi, Tweets

Ann van der Geld and I went out this morning on Vivian Gross' message of a
vulture roost off the Tualco Loop (on dead end Frohning Road). We weren't
disappointed. Instead of 24 vultures, we had at least 35, and perhaps more.
Unfortunately, the trees they were roosting in were fairly leafy
cottonwoods with the vultures spread out a bit. No photos. They alternately
left the roost, some returned, some just sat.

Behind us in a snag was an immature male bald eagle, and driving out (on
Tualco Road) we saw a merlin on a utility pole. He took off soon to chase
some swallows.

A nice morning with the rain mostly holding off.

Cheers, Diann
