A juvy BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPER was spotted 28 Aug by Jim Acton at the
Reardan Audubon Lake just north of Reardan, Lincoln Co WA. The bird was seen
and photographed that day by several birders. Also on the lake were 4
SHORT-BILLED DOWITCHERS, 2 SEMIPALMATED PLOVERS, and a STILT SANDPIPER. From
US 2, go north 0.25 mile north on WA 231. WA DeLorme 88, C-1.

Bassett Park in Washtucna, Adams Co WA keeps producing some great birds. On
22 Aug Gina Sheridan and Bart Whelton found 2 EURASIAN COLLARED-DOVES. On 3
Sep Steve Mlodinow, Randy Hill, Bruce LeBar, and Bob Flores found an EASTERN
PHOBE and a ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK. WA DeLorme 55, BC-6.

On 4 Sep Charlie Wright and Ryan Shaw found a BLUE-HEADED VIREO at Lyon's
Ferry SP in Franklin Co WA. This park is right in the corner of Franklin,
Whitman, Columbia and Walla Walla counties. Access via WA 261. WA DeLorme
55, D-6.5.

On 2 Sep Steve Mlodinow, Randy Hill, Bruce LeBar, and Bob Flores found a
BLACKPOLL WARBLER at the Kahlotus City Park in Franklin Co WA. The next day
Matt Bartels observed a PHILADELPHIA VIREO there. WA DeLorme 54, CD-4.

An Idaho BLACKPOLL WARBLER, an immature, was observed from the bike trail
near Lane Marsh in Kootenai Co ID on 5 Sep by Mike Haldeman. Lane Marsh is
along ID 3 at milepost 111 between St Maries and Rose Lake. ID DeLorme 60,
BC-2.

Good shorebirding was reported from Sprague Lake in Adams and Lincoln
counties, WA. On 26 Aug Gina Sheridan and Gary Kuiper found 22 STILT
SANDPIPERS, a SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPER, a GRASSHOPPER SPARROW, COMMON and
FORSTER'S TERNS, 2 SEMIPALMATED PLOVERS, a BLACK-BELLIED PLOVER as well as
many other shorebird species. On 1 Sep Charlie Wright and Carol Schulz found
2 juvy SANDERLINGS, 2 SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPER, a SHORT-BILLED DOWITCHER, and
a "PINK-SIDED" DARK-EYED JUNCO. Sprague Lake straddles the Lincoln and Adams
county line just south of I-90. WA DeLorme 71, BC-8.

On 29 Aug Doug Schonewald birded Soap Lake and Potholes Reservoir in Grant
Co WA. At Soap Lake he had a BLACK-BELLIED PLOVER, 4 SANDERLINGS, and a
SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPER. At Perch Point on the reservoir, Doug spied a
SEMIPALMATED PLOVER, 2 SHORT-BILLED DOWITCHERS, and 10 other species of
shorebird. And, at Potholes State Park Doug found 7 SANDERLINGS among the
other 7 shorebird species. Soap Lake is near the town of Soap Lake, Grant Co
WA and north-northeast of Moses Lake. WA DeLorme 68-69, A right on the
crease. To get to Perch Point gravel pit [aka Medicare Beach] on Potholes
Reservoir, Grant Co WA. Potholes Reservoir is southeast of Moses Lake. From
I-90 in Moses Lake, take exit 179. Turn south on WA 17 and go about 1 mile,
then turn right onto Road M SE. Drive about 6 or 6.5 miles and turn right
onto Road 6 SE. Go west about 3 miles and take a left at the brown "Public
Fishing" sign. A second road leads down to the water by continuing past the
"public Fishing" sign and turning left just past the last trailer on the
left. This leads overland to the water, but is best navigated by a high
clearance vehicle. Right on the bottom of WA DeLorme 69, 6 and 7 or right at
the top of page 53, 6 and 7.

On 3 Sep several birders observed a single SHORT-BILLED DOWITCHER at Mann
Lake, east of Lewiston, Nez Perce Co ID. ID DeLorme 54, A-1.
