Tweeters;
I'm against introductions having spent 16 years in Hawaii as FWS biologist, wildlife administrator, endangered species coordinator. Over 150 different kinds of birds have been introduced there with disastrous effects on endemic species like bringing in bird pox and malaria, among things. Over 26 endemics have become extinct since Captain Cook's time. 32 are on the list as endangered or threatened. The latest extinction may be the Poouli (Blackface). The worst record in the world. And mammals - three species of rats, goats, pigs, sheep (domestic and wild), mongooses, dogs, cats etc., etc. brought in. Other endemic animals like the beautiful land snails, various insects. And native vegetation? Geez! Let's not get into that. I could go on and on about that.
