Took the opportunity to head east and try for some migrants at Washtucna and
Lyons Ferry. Good numbers of birds at both places and some notables, but
nothing rare like what other fortunate groups have found in the past week.
At washtucna good numbers of Yellow-rumped Warblers and Orange-crowned
Warblers (OCWA), including an OCWA that made me pause for a second. The bird
was in either a first fall celata or very dull first fall orestera. The bird
had a very prominent white eyeline, about the color and distinctive of a
warbling vireo and was mostly very grayish brown with just a hint of
greenish olive on the back. I only saw the undertail coverts in flight, but
undertail coverts were very pale (though the lighting could have added to
the paleness)This bird made me think a Tennessee, but it was with some
Orange-crowneds and structurally, no different.Other notables here:
1 female MacGillivary's Warbler (in the willows at the parking area)
2 Townsend's Solitare
1 Least Flycatcher
1 Black-capped Chickadee
2 Lincoln's Sparrow among the White-crowneds, all of the rest of these birds
were up the hill in the willows.

At Lyon's Ferry lots of birds again, especially Yellow-rumped and Wilson's
Warblers. Notable birds here included:
1 female Yellow Warbler in the ornamental plantings with an entirely pale
beak.
2 Gray Flycatchers, 1 adult, 1 first fall- near the base of the island
walkway.
1 imm. Clay-colored Sparrow among the Chipping Sparrows in the grass area
among the ornamentals
1 female MacGillivary's Warbler at the base of the island walkway.
1 Barn Owl flushed from the island.

A fun day.
