I have noticed little blackberry plants popping up all over my yard recently. Must be from birds eating them somewhere and then coming here to deposit them. It is a difficult weed to eradicate and I have to keep up with it constantly. It is much easier to pull them when they are small though.

I would think a great hedge would be our native nootka rose. It grows very quickly too.
