All day today, what looks like a juvenile goldfinch has been chasing two
adults around my yard and my feeders, begging begging begging. Non-stop.
Junior is currently begging on the bottom rung of the thistle feeder, with
the adults on the next level ignoring Jr entirely.
Isn't this a bit late for goldfinch babies? I thought they were done by
now. Jr looks VERY junior, still sort of downy and not many days out of
the nest. He's not much of a flyer, either, more like he throws himself
(herself?) at the next perching spot and feels lucky!
Thanks,
