Ginger Shoemake found a female Harlequin Duck on Mill Creek at Rook's Park
just east of Walla Walla this morning. A GREAT find and a lifer for her!!!
The fields to the west of town are now flooded - Detour/MacDonald Rd,
Woodward Canyon Road. The last two days have produced 2 Sandhill Cranes,
lots of Snipe and Killdeer, Pectoral, Solitary and Bairds Sandpipers, both
Yellowlegs - could not find anything out of the ordinary after a couple
hours of scoping. They are still flooding so it should be good shorebirding
for a few days yet. Also lots of hawks in the area - RT's and Swainson's.
Mike is still up on Table Rock fire lookout.
Later, ML
