This morning Fred Parent and I made a quick trip to Point no Point on
the Kitsap Penn. From the beach upon arrival (aprox 8:45 am) we saw
many Common Tern among masses of Bonaparte's and Heermann's Gulls.
Soon after we moved up towards the lighthouse where we ran into a
Seattle Audubon field trip. The Seattle Audubon had a juvenile
SABINE'S GULL in their scopes among a raft of BOGU and was kind enough
to point it out. The bird returned the favor soon after by taking
flight and showing it's distinctive wing pattern. Many thanks to
Seattle Audubon for the great looks at a lifer. We proceeded south
along the beach and ended up having a PARASITIC JAEGER cruse across
the point directly overhead. A great morning of birding, and a great
way to start a weekend.
