I'm off to Salt Creek tomorrow so this report includes most of the
sightings 'til now. Turkey vultures are starting to be seen in larger and
larger groupings so keep an eye out over Seattle in the next week or so.
Reports welcome, as always! Following are reports from Washington, Oregon,
and British Columbia for the first half of September 2005:

01 -- 1 going fast with "wings akimbo" at Littlerock; 1 at Nisqually NWR; 1
at Sprague Lake
02 -- 3 at Gray Gables; 3 at Burrow's Road; 1 east of Ocean Shores; 2 at
the Oyhut WA, 9 kettling over Damon Point; 8 at Montesano; 4 at Brady; 4 at
Satsop; 24 from the intersection of Tualco Loop Road and Frohing Road in
trees along the water and in various stages of waking up; 3 over Tokeland
03 -- 1 soaring over Bellingham; 5 feeding on something dead on the bank of
the Snohomish River; 1 over Tokeland
04 -- 35 on Frohning Road (just off Tualco Loop) - a different place than
the earlier report; 1 over Tokeland
06 -- 2 over the sediment dam at Kid Valley
07 -- 1 above Sequim
08 -- 10 in Sequim Valley flying or landing to rest in a pasture (around
for a month)
09 -- 1 at Elma; 1 at Montesano; 2 at Bottle Beach; 1 north of Grayland; 8
at Tokeland; 7 on a deer carcass north of Spokane; 1 over Glacial Heritage
10 -- 2 at Elma; 10 between Satsop and Brady; 2 at Montesano; 2 east of
Aberdeen; 2 east of Ocean Shores
11 -- 1 at the Squamish River estuary, B.C.
12 -- 1 being unmercifully harassed by at least a hundred crows at Glacial
Heritage
13 -- 12 finishing up the deer carcass from the 09th north of Spokane; 5
at Sayward, B.C.; 2 circling very low just south of Tumwater; 25+ north of
the Quilcene marina; ca. 10 near the Duckabush River delta; 28 circling
over the Skykomish River
14 -- 4 at Satsop; 4 at Tokeland; 6 flying south over the Montlake Cut; a
heavy movement of turkey vultures over the Willamette Valley this week
16 -- 6 from Sakuma Viewpoint Park to the Montlake Bridge (12th to 16th)
17 -- 10 kettling up over Alderwood Manor, then heading south
18 -- 5 at Tokeland
