Hi Tweets:

On Saturday Sept. 17th Mike West led a Seattle Audubon field trip to Point No
Point, Marrowstone Island, Anderson Lake, Marlyn Nelson County Park, John
Wayne Marina and 3-Crabs. With the trip list at 77 species, here are a few of
the sightings. As previously mentioned on Tweeters, a juvenile Sabine's Gull
was scoped from Point No Point. Two Parasitic Jaegers were also seen along with
a Cooper's and Sharp-shinned Hawk. At Oak Bay County Park a Greater
White-fronted Goose foraged alone. Two Western Tanagers were seen at Mystery Bay
State Park and at Ft. Flagler an American Kestrel flew near the trees bordering
the Campground. A pair of Red Crossbills were scoped perched in a bare tree
near the Fort's Sewage Ponds. An adult Common Yellowthroat was seen at Anderson
Lake County Park. Black-bellied Plover and Black Oystercatcher were on the
jetty at J. W. Marina. In the area of 3-Crabs, Marble Godwits were among the
many gulls; 3 Pectoral Sandpipers were with Least Sandpipers at the nearby
horse pond. Even though waterfowl were few, the variety of bird species made for
a interesting day.
