This is the Okanagan Valley (BC) Bird Alert (250-491-7738), sponsored

Sightings for Monday September 19th- 19:40 PM update

Featured birds are: Harris's Sparrow, Long-billed Dowitcher,
Northern Pintail, American Golden Plover, Sanderling, Baird's
Sandpiper, Sharp-tailed Sandpiper, Buff-breasted Sandpiper, Arctic
Tern, Franklin's Gull.

Sept 14th: An immature HARRIS'S SPARROW was seen on Camp Road in
Lake Country. Follow Berry Road in Winfield to get to Camp Road.

Sept 15th: LONG-BILLED DOWITCHERS were seen on the south pond on
Glenmore road in Kelowna, and 7 NORTHERN PINTAILS were also present
on the north pond. (PL)

Sept 17th: Salmon Arm yet again produced a nice variety of
shorebirds including 2 SANDERLINGS, 6 BAIRD'S SANDPIPERS,
2 SHARP-TAILED SANDPIPERS, 2 BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPERS,
and there were also AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVERS present.
Also,a SABINE'S GULL was seen.(DC&PB).

Sept 18th: A first year ARCTIC TERN was found at the Penticton
waterfront, near the casino by the breakwater marina. It was in the
company of several COMMON TERNS (RT).

Sept 19th: A winter plumage FRANKLIN'S GULL was found hidden in with
about 150 RING-BILLED GULLS at City Park in Kelowna (RTO).
