I took a walk out a logging road this morning just south of Elma off of Workman Creek Road and found some great birds. It was a cold morning that warmed up quickly. I was happy to see my first of the season Fox Sparrows. I located two that were attracted to my pishing in different spots. Here's some of the other birds I saw/heard this morning:

Turkey Vulture (2 soaring over Workman Creek Rd., 1 single over Wakefield Rd.)
Red-tailed Hawk
Virginia Rail
Northern-Pygmy Owl (at least 2 calling)
Band-tailed Pigeon
Belted Kingfisher
Northern Flicker
Pileated Woodpecker
Hammond's Flycatcher (my first for the county - seen and heard singing half song)
Steller's Jay
Hutton's Vireo
Winter Wren
Bewick's Wren
Ruby-crowned Kinglet
Swainson's Thrush
American Robin
MacGillivray's Warbler
Common Yellowthroat
Spotted Towhee
Song Sparrow
Golden-crowned Sparrow

Good birding,
