Hi Tweeters,

Alison Styring, Jan Sharkey, and I did some hiking around Jumbo Peak in
north-central Skamania County today. The area was quite birdy, with large
numbers of migrating Townsend's Solitaires being the highlight of the day.
We counted at least 50, but 2-3 times that many may have been present.
American Robins and Golden-crowned Sparrows were also quite common and
were presumably moving through as well. We also saw small numbers of
raptors flying southward, including 4-5 Sharp-shinned Hawks, 1 immature
Golden Eagle, and 3 Red-tailed Hawks.
