Hi Tweeters,
I was on the Westport Seabirds pelagic trip Saturday. I was surprised at
how difficult it is to take photos from the boat but I did get a few good
ones that are now in the new photos folder on my website.
Saturday after the boat landed I went to Bill's Spit in Ocean Shores with
Marv Breece to see the two Bar-tailed Godwits and one Hudsonian Godwit that
Marv found the weekend before. We saw all of them but most of the time
they were sleeping and were viewed at quite a distance because the tide was
getting quite high.
I went back two times Sunday morning and finally got photos of one of the
Bar-tailed Godwits but the other one and the Hudsonian were
uncooperative. I put photos in a Bar-tailed Godwit folder in the new
photos folder.
I got a tip from Stefan Schlick and Mike Fleming (who got it from Marv)
that there were ten Pacific Golden-Plovers on Damon Point just south of the
west end of the pond. I found four of them. Their photos are also in the
new photos folder.
I also found a Palm Warbler at Bill's Spit. It was just north of the trail
onto the beach from Peninsula Road parking area.
