Catbirds are certainly rare in wWA. The main "window" seems to be latter
May to mid-July in riparian thickets, especially in June. In Skagit Co,
there have been about 4-5 recent records/reports (birds have shown at
Barnaby Slough and Corkindale near Marblemount). Fall birds are more
scarce, but I've had two on Fir I over the years, one heard-only in mid-Sept
at the main access off Wylie Rd, and an Oct. 10 bird a number of years back
near Hayton Preserve.
