Tweets,

This morning in howling winds, I observed a juvenile Red Knot at the
Foulweather Bluff Nature Preserve at the north end of Kitsap County. I found
it quite interesting to study a Red Knot in juvenile plumage with its scaly
patterned upperparts. It loosely associated with some Killdeer in the inner
marsh for a short time before flying to the outer beach. I digiscoped it out
on the beach. The winds did make this task quite difficult. I don't believe
Red Knot has been previously recorded in Kitsap County.

A Western Meadowlark was in the area and two Blue-winged Teal are still
hanging out in the inner marsh.

Earlier at Point no Point, Joyce Meyer, Brian Bell and I enjoyed watching
all the activity out on the water. One adult Parasitic Jaeger harassed some
Common Terns fairly close in and Pacific Loons (in alternate plumage!) were
plentiful. The bony flock was again quite distant so we struck-out on
locating a Sabine's Gull.
