Bob Wilson, Carol Ledford and I went up to Ridgefield
NWR today. We did not see the White-tailed Kites, but
we had a nice day outside, and saw about three dozen
species.

The best critters of the day were 2 Coyotes (adult and
juv, based on the run/romp behavior of the juvenile
while the adult lay in the grass watching) on the
easterly shoreline of Rest lake as seen from the
viewing blind on the westerly side of Rest Lake .
Also seen from the same viewing blind were 3 otters,
gorging themselves on fish, while about a dozen or so
Great Egrets and Great Blue Herons waded close by (at
times within 10 feet).
