To those who might use the ebird site (Cornell) for various reasons;

The message on Sept. 15th got me to reacquaint myself with this site. I never used it for submissions before, with one feeble exception. Anyway, the other day I used it to look up the place where I got started birding in my early teen years around 1948 - 1950 in Madison, Wisconsin. To be more precise, the blank area on the map that is really a large cemetary. Well, I see that somebody has been birding there, and entered a few years worth of sightings. Along with all my old feathered friends, he or she or they saw lots more. I obviously wasn't as sharp as I thought. But at least they missed my screech owl!

So, for idling away some time, why not try it out. I don't have the address at my fingertips, but it might be: www.birdsource.org or www.ebird.org (or both).
